Infrastructure Investment₹439 crore sanctioned in 2021 for 64 projects (synthetic turfs, multipurpose halls, swimming pools, hostels).
Existing Infrastructure86 operational sports projects, 250 Khelo India Centres (KICs), 8 KISCEs, 3 NCOEs (Guwahati, Itanagar, Imphal).
Talent ScoutingNational Sports Repository System (NSRS) portal launched for public to upload athlete videos; SAI scouts to verify and induct talent.
Women in Sports13,000+ girls from Northeast participated in ASMITA League, promoting women's sports.
Previous SuccessKhelo India Ashtalakshmi University Games 2023 hosted athletics, football, archery, boxing; demonstrated Northeast's event-hosting capability.
National AspirationsAligns with India's bid to host 2030 Commonwealth Games and 2036 Summer Olympics.
